Congratulations to the 2009 Utah Entrepreneur Challenge Winners
The 2009 awards banquet at the Rice-Eccles Stadium Tower was a memorable event for many involved with this year's state-wide entrepreneur challenge. Many distinguished guests from the business community of Utah were in attendance eager to see what student entrepreneurs from Brigham Young University, University of Utah, and Westminster College have been writing, planning, and even executing over the past seven months. Congratulations to the winners of the 2009 Utah Entrepreneur Challenge.
Grand Prize: KT Tape
This year's $40,000 challenge winners was K2 Tape from BYU. An astounded Reed Quinn of KT Tape said, "This is definately an honor and the $40,000 will give our company a huge jump start in bringing kinesiology tape to consumers."

Runner-up: Hansen Ties
Hanson Industries, a team made up of BYU and LDS Business College students, was announced as a $5,000 runner-up.
Hansen Industries has developed and received patents on the process of manufacturing railroad ties from recycled tires and promises to redefine sustainable development in the railroad industry. Runner-up: VeriTract
University of Utah team, Veritract, was announced as a $5,000 runner-up. Misplaced feeding tubes are estimated to kill more than 6,000 people per year. Deaths from isplaced feeding tubes equate to approximately 4 deaths per year for an average hospital. The Veritract Smart Feeding Tube
